Business Development Manager
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team. In this fully remote position, you will report to the VP of Sales. As part of the business development team, you will bring your significant transportation and sales experience to the table, as part of a transparent and open sales team culture. You must be comfortable developing and executing solution pitches to targeted companies virtually and presenting our client’s logistics solutions. The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in working with cross-functional partners, such as operations and
pricing teams, to cultivate custom solutions proposals for large outsource engagements.

Responsibilities:
  • Source new sales leads through outbound connections to create a pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective clients.
  • Identify and pursue partnerships and alliances with complementary organizations.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation.
  • Prepare and deliver the Company’s solution objectives and added value proposition at a consultant level to stakeholders.
  • In conjunction with VP of Sales, negotiate and close complex deals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive developments.
  • Strategize on efforts to target particular territories/customers and uncover pain points for solution selling.
  • Develop business models in Excel to plan, execute and iterate on business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for up selling and cross-selling.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Ability to travel (not more than 25%) attending industry events and tradeshows.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation/logistics sales required.
  • Experience working in LTL and/or Final Mile logistics required.
  • Solutions driven selling is required, and experience with managed transportations sales is a plus.
  • Understanding of TMS technology or dispatch software.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, including consultative selling and solution selling.
  • Excellent computer literacy, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales automation tools; HubSpot a definite plus.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action and comfortable working independently.
