Produce Account Manager
This position will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and securing carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition, this role will be customer-facing, and will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and handling daily tracking and tracing of shipments.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate and secure carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner.  
  • Ensure that freight is picked up, transported, and delivered on time to meet and/or exceed client’s expectations. 
  • Professionally manage existing accounts. 
  • Be held accountable for overall customer satisfaction. 
  • Assist customers with any problems. 
  • Build, develop and maintain carrier relationships and negotiate competitive carrier rates while maintaining company revenue and margin goals. 
  • Maintain business by constant contact and follow-up. 
  • Enter customer orders into the system.  
  • Communicate customer orders to vendors, carriers, and partners. 
  • Track orders and communicate any issues to customers or final consignee. 
  • Build loads and schedule appointments. 
  • Maintain and update accurate information in the company’s operating system.
     
Experience:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in the transportation industry, specifically overseeing accounts and dealing with quotes, bookings and tracking. 
  • Produce experience is a plus. 
  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills. 
  • Self-motivated with strong relationship building skills. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
 
This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.
