Our client is an Independent Agency based in Denton, TX which specializes in transportation Logistics solutions for North America.

Business Development Manager
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be the face of our client’s organization for a portfolio of their existing customers. You will be responsible for increasing wallet share with these customers by building relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization, focusing on continuous improvement activities, and insuring customer’s critical KPI metrics are being met. In this role you will collaborate with customers to develop and execute initiatives which add value to their supply chain by leveraging the full scope of company products and services.

Job Type: Full-time/Work from home

Responsibilities:

  • Drive growth of existing customer base by selling company products / services.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Carrier Management teams to design the best solutions.
  • Build relationships with customer’s key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create annual account forecasts and strategic account plans to realize goals.
  • Conduct business reviews with clients to uncover needs.
  • Proactively work on the customer’s behalf to minimize and prevent issues, as well as take control of the narrative when issues arise.
  • Utilize analytical tools and leverage internal resources to price customer opportunities.
  • Understand industry market trends, competition, products / services that may impact customers.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Proficiency in Power BI a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or account management in the transportation industry
    • Prior experience in managing high-profile book of business is a plus
  • Working knowledge and utilization of Transportation Management Systems
  • Assertive / persuasive sales mentality and great negotiation skills with an ability to close deals
