What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Even though I’m very risk-averse now (especially since becoming a parent) and afraid of heights, in college I actually went bungee jumping and skydiving. Definitely a different chapter of life!
What’s your ultimate comfort movie or show?
My first comfort show was Friends. It’s what I would fall asleep to. Over time, my comfort show lineup has grown to include The Office, Parks and Rec, New Girl, and Schitt’s Creek. They’re my go-to shows for falling asleep or for when life feels a little too stressful
Favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving, always. I love the cooking, the whole family hanging out all day, and watching old Thanksgiving Friends episodes. Now we’ve added new traditions like the Turkey Trot run and our family bar crawl, which makes it even more special.
What’s something unique about CS Recruiting’s culture?
All the little things really add up. Flex Fridays, our birthday off, a company-wide reset day, values days, 'Be Curious' hours, anniversary shoutouts, and the thoughtful gifts and notes — it’s the small touches that make us feel valued and create a culture that’s both supportive and rewarding.
What’s one recruiting lesson you learned the hard way?
I had a candidate turn down a role that I knew he would regret passing up. I didn’t push hard enough to convince him because I was afraid he’d think I was just trying to 'sell' him for my own benefit. In reality, I should’ve been a better partner and reminded him why he was looking to make a change in the first place. Since then, I’ve never hesitated to fight for what I know is right for a candidate. When it’s worth advocating for, I always lay it all on the line.
How do you stay up-to-date on industry trends?
Reading articles, tuning into podcasts and webinars, but honestly, nothing beats talking to the people actually doing the work. The best way to understand what’s really happening in the industry is hearing it straight from the candidates!
What type of encouragement or feedback motivates you the most?
I really appreciate feedback, even the hard-to-hear kind, because it makes me feel like people are investing in my growth. I know it’s coming from a good place, and even when it’s tough, I see it as a tool to help me improve and keep growing.
What’s a small gesture that makes your day?
I just like to feel seen. A simple 'I see you' email, text, or call goes a long way with me and can really make my day.
What does “winning together” mean to you?
I’ve always felt deeply invested in each member of our team and the overall health of the company. We all celebrate each other’s wins and the company’s wins because when one of us succeeds, we all do. CS does a great job of making everyone feel that it’s truly a team effort.
