Operations Specialist- Carrier Relations
The Operations Specialist- Carrier Relations will work on our client’s operations and dispatch team in San Mateo, CA. This is an early-stage start-up opportunity that will allow you to experience first-hand the thrill of a start-up working with the founders and senior management in the headquarters of the company’s office. If you thrive in ambiguity and solving tough problems, this may be your role.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Reach out to and qualify carriers.
  • Send preliminary proposals to carriers.
  • Sign up carriers with broker partners, as necessary.
  • Source, negotiate and confirms loads.
  • Load scheduling (updates) to carrier.
  • Monitor truck status and manage exceptions.
  • Process invoices and payments.
Experience:
  • 3+ years’ experience in dispatching, preferably trucks, either for a for-hire carrier or an in-house fleet.
  • Spanish, Hindi or Punjabi language skills are preferred.
  • Previous experience dealing with freight brokers, drivers and other carriers.
  • Capable of handling multiple concurrent processes.
  • Attention to detail and administrative housekeeping items.
  • Possess a can-do attitude and enjoy a hands-on approach to problems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Creative problem solver obsessed with finding hacks to get to your goals.
  • Have a knack for data, analytics and visualization.
  • Thrive in the environment of a start-up acknowledging both the thrill and challenges of its fluidity.
