Driver Recruiter
The Driver Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, hiring, and retaining drivers to
meet and exceed company goals. This role involves leveraging multiple recruitment strategies, coordinating onboarding processes, and fostering positive relationships with drivers to ensure a seamless and effective hiring experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Sourcing:
    • Source drivers through referrals, cold calling, job boards, social media, in-person events, and industry-specific websites.
    • Utilize creative methods to identify and engage potential driver candidates.
    • Conduct interviews to assess candidates' experience, safety records, and suitability for the role.
    • Verify necessary certifications (e.g., CDL, endorsements) and compliance with company and DOT standards.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Collaborate with the Safety Department to process background checks, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), PSP reports, and drug screenings.
    • Review and verify driving experience, history, and other regulated requirements.
    • Ensure all drivers meet DOT and company guidelines before employment.
  • Onboarding & Training:
    • Work closely with operations to onboard new drivers, ensuring they understand company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
    • Coordinate training sessions for new drivers or updates on certifications and safety protocols.
    • Prepare and organize necessary documentation, including DOT, personnel, and medical files.
  • Retention & Relationship Management:
    • Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to address questions and concerns during the onboarding process and throughout their employment.
    • Conduct retention and driver suitability reviews, as well as post-employment interviews, to ensure quality control and foster a positive work environment.
    • Proactively address driver concerns to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Experience:
  • Experience in driver recruitment within the transportation industry.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation industry standards, including hours of service and DOT regulations.
  • Exposure to hazmat operations is preferred.
  • Strong sales and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
