VP of Supply Chain
The Vice President of Supply Chain will have responsibility for logistics, operations, facilities, and inventory control.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Drive high level customer service focus throughout the organization.
  • Optimize logistics and operating performance.
  • Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Provide strategic cross-functional collaboration to ensure team alignment and execute strategic planning initiatives. 
  • Benchmark and work to understand similar environments in order to implement best practices to continue to transform SPC’s into a world-class enterprise.
  • Oversee Logistics, which manages the flow of goods between the point of origin and the point of consumption in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to meet the requirements of customers. This includes all inbound, intercompany, and outbound material movement in addition to truck, rail, and barge transportation activities.
  • Analyze flow and identify new transload and storage opportunities.
  • Identify and execute new strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee Operations planning and scheduling, which will work with trading and logistics to schedule processing, blending, and shipping to meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate rail fleet size and right size for current volume and future growth opportunities.
  • Oversee Facilities, which includes managing operating and cap ex budgets, leading operations team, and overall responsibility for safety, environmental, and production initiatives.
  • Oversee Inventory Control, which will focus on improving our client’s cash position by efficiently managing inventory, while still maintaining our client’s high standards of customer service.
  • Identify additional storage needs and opportunities.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics/ Engineering/Supply Chain/Agriculture or related field.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean concepts or other continuous improvement methodology.
  • Minimum of 10 years of broad-based supply chain experience.
  • Previous experience leading various aspects throughout the supply chain.
  • Highly process-driven with an understanding of general best practices in similar environments and experience working in a high-growth commodity product environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously improve a supply chain and manage complex customer needs.
  • Experience effectively managing logistics throughout North America.
  • A leader and mentor capable of building, managing and developing an outstanding performance-oriented team. 
  • Strong communications skills, drive, energy level, and problem-solving abilities will be critical for the success of this individual.
  • Ability to work across all disciplines and throughout all levels of the organization in a persuasive and credible manner is a must. 
  • Ability to work effectively with other executives in a team environment toward common goals and objectives.
  • Track record of building a strong, collaborative working relationship with operations, as well as interacting with areas outside of supply chain such as marketing, product development and finance.
