Senior Manager of Field Sales (Remote)
Our client is currently seeking a candidate that can manage and lead a team of sales representatives in North America with a focus on strategic corporate growth. This position’s primary responsibilities will include assisting the sales team on acquiring new business and supporting the Product & Marketing departments to design, develop, and implement customized international transportation and logistics solutions. This position will also work to develop, manage, and support a distinct segment of the North American sales team tasked with driving new business revenue by building direct selling relationships with small and mid-sized U.S. & Canadian based companies desiring superior supply chain logistics to/within international markets.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, build, and nurture a team of outside Sales Executives and inside sales representatives while strategically fostering client engagement.  
  • Manage the team’s pipeline and support the team on the identification and pursuit of potential clients shipping to key international markets and articulate our client’s value proposition to bring accounts to closure.
  • Work with the Executive Leadership on strategic sales and marketing plans including exploring new verticals and increasing territory market shares.  
  • Continue to grow international revenue from US based shippers moving small to mid-size packages to international markets.
  • Develop comprehensive business relationship with key decision makers, influencers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as an expert in the challenges and opportunities of international package logistics.
  • Use a consultative approach to understand potential client’s challenges and pain points, and work with the technical team to develop tailored solutions.
  • Develop a comprehensive new sales team member training program including building, testing, and obtaining feedback on the program.
  • Establish goals & KPI’s, analyze data and project future team performance and forecasts. Provide ongoing monitoring of team KPI’s as well as motivating and providing performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Ensure the sales team has adequate support and works cross functionally with leaders from other departments.
  • Collaborate on product launches, marketing, white papers, new client on-boarding, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above - although equivalent industry sales experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Business Development or Sales including at least two years in the transportation / logistics / e-commerce industry.
  • Strong International Sales experience / skills are required.
  • Ability to travel internationally and at times on short notice.
  • E-commerce parcel sales experience is a MUST.
  • Canadian and / or International experience preferred.
  • IT experience or TMS understanding a plus.
  • High achieving, ambitious, and results-focused professional. Innovative with strong ability to think outside the box
  • Detail-oriented with data analysis experience and decision-making ability based on facts and figures.
