Director of Transportation - Customer Success
This role will be responsible for leading the Customer Success Department to improve transportation partner relationships, contracts, and operations. This role will also be responsible for taking initiative to further develop customer relationships, onboard new customers and provide training, support and consulting services to all users of company’s product.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the transportation department and all material movement on a national level.
  • Optimize outsourced logistics rates for all trucking.
  • Improve transportation/logistics partner relations, contracts, and operations.
  • Work with the executive team to define, develop and execute projects to build functionality necessary to drive improvements while ensuring the transportation operations achieves and sustains best-in-class status. 
  • Develop and establish KPIs for operational and transportation metrics.  
  • Innovate and continuously improve initiatives that identify, evaluate, prioritize, and implement change to drive reduced costs, higher quality, enhanced customer service levels, reduced lead-times and technological enhancements.
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of delivery function including managing, monitoring and approving department expenses and identifying and resolving problems.
  • Schedule truck deliveries and routing on a daily basis and change routes accordingly to meet customer needs and to maximize route profitability. 
  • Analyze equipment needs (trucks, tractors, trailers) and determines type and number required.
  • Create and manage account strategic plan.
  • Responsible for consultative selling.
  • Create, develop, and maintain relationships with low, mid, and high (c-suite) level contacts.
  • Generate insights leveraging internal and external business intelligence to report on, and drive the business.
  • Calculate and measure risk profile for strategic account plans.
  • Develop account processes that drive service, value, and productivity.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or comparable studies.
  • Minimum 10 years of transportation/ logistics experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, contracts and negotiation (cost and performance) in either a transportation procurement management role or 3PL account management role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to drive core objectives to completion.
  • Proficient in contract management systems, word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.
