Compliance Specialist
Our client is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join their team. Typical duties will include compliance, some classification, problem solving, acting as an escalation point for Entry Writers, etc. It also includes assisting in creating a more compliant environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to compliance questions from customers, overseas, and sales.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of all current customer requirements/ SOP.
  • Handle certain Post Entry activities (like PEAs, protests, etc.).
  • Monitor pending FDA issues and holds and follow up through release.
  • Communicate with foreign offices and agents, including providing freight quotes to both agents and customers.
  • Stay abreast of new regulations (such as Section 301, steel & aluminum, etc.).
  • Deal with CBP inquires and special requests, approve POA documents and assist customers with customs bond issues.
  • Manage relevant software files.
  • Develop new business as opportunities present themselves.

Experience:
  • 5-10 years’ experience working for an IFF/CHB operation
  • Should have knowledge in FTA’s, GSP, Section 301 & 232, PGA’s, etc.
  • Should possess strong classification skills
  • Should be familiar with CBP Rulings, Protests, Petitions, Statement, etc.
  • Hands on customs entry and FDA filing experience.
  • Ability to develop handling procedures for new customers and/or products.
  • Ability to work with others to maximize efficiencies.
  • Experience in working with overseas agents and preparing transport quotations.
  • Good IT skills in adapting to new IT environments.
