Our client is a non-asset 3PL that designs logistic and transportation solutions for businesses by working with asset-based partners to secure shipping capacity and services across multiple transportation modes, including over the road, rail, and bulk/tanker options.

Carrier Sales Representative
This role will be responsible for prospecting and onboarding new customers. This position will also be responsible for serving as customers’ main point of contact and for providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is sales-minded, confident at building relationships and growing a portfolio of customers and carriers. 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, from beginning to end, the claims process and communicate with parties affiliated until claims closure.
  • Maintain consistent contact with customers and our client’s team to ensure commitments are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve shortfalls and document reasons and steps taken to resolve.
  • Review and present to management and customers scorecard results.
  • Ensure required metrics are provided and captured utilizing customer-provided scorecards requirements and developing scorecards in the absence of customer requirements.
  • Provide recommendations using data and information received to continuously improve service and relations.
  • Utilize data, leads, and cold call to develop a pipeline of potential customers.  
  • Communicate and engage with customers.
  • Continuously market to customer base on our client’s services and current events/happenings.
  • Follow our client’s policies, guidelines and approved templates to ensure customers have successful onboarding.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the onboarding process and ensure they have completed all requirements and approvals received from various internal departments.
  • Develop and maintain customer RFP template and information.
  • Respond to customer RFP’s and follow through to close the process.
  • Provide various customer reports to leadership.  
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned to assist the business meet demands.

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, logistics, or related field. In lieu of degree must have minimum of 5 years demonstrated/related logistics industry experience and minimum of 4 years of strong customer service experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Working knowledge of McCloud preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships at all levels of a business (internally and externally).
  • Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • High customer service orientation.
  • Team player with proven ability to excel in a team-based environment.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, flexibility and assertiveness.
